NUTRITION CLASS 10 CHAPTER 6

NEXT TOPPER INSTITUTE

LIFE PROCESS : The process which maintain body function and necessary for survival are called life process. or
All the processes which together keep the living organisms alive and perform task to maintains the body are called life processes.
 NUTRITION                  :  FOOD ,PROTEIN
RESPIRATION               :  BREATHING
TRANSPORTATION     : TRANSFER  OF FOOD
EXCRETION                  :  THROUGH  ANUS

Nutrition :
THE PROCESS OF TAKING NUTRIENTS FROM FOOD IS CALLED NUTRITION
EX: WATER ,VITAMINS ,MINERALS ,CARBOHYDRATES ,FATS ETC

TYPES OF NUTRITION : THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF NUTRITION

1. AUTOTROPHIC NUTRITION

2. HETEROTROPHIC NUTRITION

1. AUTOTROPHIC NUTRITION :
It is a process in which organism produces their food from                                                                    simple inorganic material (water ,co2 ) in the presence of                                                                      sunlight . Sunlight have energy in the form of light . Light                                                      is a electromagnetic wave , which radiated energy in                                                            form of EMW.
ex .plants
ex : lion ,human being

2. HETEROTROPHIC NUTRITION  :   In this organism depend upon organisms for food
to survive . example human being , lion ,amoeba                                                                                      etc

TYPE OF HETEROTROPHIC NUTRITION

1. HOLOZOIC NUTRITION

2. PARASITIC NUTRITION

3. SAPROPHYTES NUTRITION

1. HOLOZOIC NUTRITION : The mode of nutrition that involves ingestion ,digestion , absorption and assimilation of liquid of solid organic material
example : human being ,animals etc
2. PARASITIC NUTRITION : The mode of nutrition in which organism obtain food from another organism without killing them .
example mosquito , Tapeworm
3. SAPROPHYTES NUTRITION : The mode of nutrition in which organism obtain food from dead and decaying organic matter . example bateria , fungi etc,

Two rigid boxes containing different ideal gases are placed on a table . Box A contains one mole of nitrogen at temperature 𝑇_𝑜 , while box B contains one mole of helium at temperature 7/3 𝑇_𝑜 . The boxes are then put into thermal contact with each other and heat flows between them until the gases reach a common final temperature (ignore the heat capacity of boxes and heat exchange will happen only between boxes ) . Then the final temperature of the gases in terms of 𝑇_𝑜 is 7/3 𝑇_𝑜 3/2 𝑇_𝑜 5/2 𝑇_𝑜 3/7 𝑇_𝑜
