Kinetic theory of ideal gas Kinetic theory of gas explain the behavior of gases ,it correlates the macroscopic properties of gases e.g. pressure, temperature etc. , to the microscopic properties like speed ,momentum , kinetic energy etc. PV =𝒏𝑹𝑻 Assumption of K.T.G The molecules of a gas have negligible size and so volume of the gas equal to volume of the container All molecules of a gas collide with each other and with the container wall is perfectly elastic .it means kinetic energy is conserved in each collision. Due to this the gas exert pressure on the wall . The time of contact of collision is negligible
